Detroit Power Squadron HOMEPAGE

Welcome!
America’s Boating Club of Detroit was founded and officially created in 1916 as a unit of the United States Power Squadrons®, the world’s largest boating
organization.  We are sailors, power boaters, and paddlers who have a common appreciation of “simply messing about in boats”.  However, you do not have to own a boat to be a member.  We are a volunteer organization with a non-profit status.
One of our main objectives is to promote safe boating through Education. The United States Power Squadrons® has a large selection of basic and advanced courses and seminars.  There is everything from basic inland and coastal, to offshore boating. Click on the Education Department link below for our current class schedules.

Another primary objective involves other community and civic services such as the Vessel Safety Check program.  During the boating season, our qualified members conduct courtesy vessel safety checks of boats at the request of their owners.  Click on the VSC link below for more information.

As a member of the Detroit Power Squadron you can enjoy many benefits including discounts on marine insurance.  Most of our meetings and some social events are held at the historic Detroit Yacht Club on Belle Isle.  As Commander I welcome you to become a member and have fun at our many activities.  Enjoy the camaraderie while learning and helping others.
