Cooperative Charting Program of the United States Power Squadrons is conducted in close coordination with the Marine Chart Division, National Ocean Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The Program is a major public service of USPS.
Through our Geodetic and Nautical reporting programs we supply information to the National Geodetic Service (NGS), and the United States Coast Guard on land based Geodetic Marks and ATONs. Reports on specific Geodetic Marks help improve the National Spatial Reference System (NSRS) prepare for the NSRS modernization in 2022 and the reports on ATONs help to keep the public aware of current Nautical Discrepancies that are a hazard to navigation.
